Is your next holiday coming up and you really have to start packing your suitcase? In case you don't know what to bring, how to pack or don't have enough space in you suitcase, we have listed some useful tips to pack the perfect suitcase.

Before you start packing, you have to check the weather forecast for you holiday destination. In this way you can leave out all the things from your closet that are not suitable for that type of weather. If it for example going to be warm but you don't trust it totally you can just pack summer clothes but bring one vest and one long jeans or pants. In case you are going to a very cold destination you should wear you heaviest boots and bulkiest coat while you’re travelling and not pack them in your suitcase.

You should always check with the hotel what they provide. If they provide a hair dryer, bath towels and beach towels you don't have to bring these with you. They might also provide soap and other bath essentials.

You can't decide what you are going to wear and what you should pack? Try to make combinations on beforehand. Are you planning to go the beach, then you can make summery beach looks before you go. If you are planning to have some chic dinners then you could already make combinations for this. Make sure you can combine several clothing pieces with the same shoes, because shoes are quite heavy. In case you're having a surprise holiday and don't know what's going to happen you can always go for basics, with basics you are always safe and you will never make a mismatch.

After you have made the combinations you place everything on your bed including your accessories, bath stuff and everything else. In this way you have a good overview of what's going to be in your suitcase and this is the best way to don't forget anything. You can also make a list and check everything when you place it in your suitcase. You don't want you clothes to be totally crumpled, the best technique to avoid this is to roll your clothes instead of folding it. Make sure you first place all the essentials in your suitcase and when you have space left you can start with the less important "extras".

If you are not struggling with the space and the weight of your luggage and you just have a few things in your suitcase, you have to make sure you keep everything tight with the luggage belts, otherwise it's going move in your suitcase.

To make sure your suitcase is not going to be a total mess we advise you to put all your shampoos, body lotion and sunscreen into a plastic bag, when it starts leaking it is not on your clothes and other stuff. It is also good to do this for your pressurised cans like deodorant and shaving foam, they can also leak or even explode in an aircraft hold.

Don't let your clothes get ruined during an Italian dinner with tomato sauce. It is always good to have a mini wash liquid with you. If you leave the stain in your clothes for a week or so you definitely won't get it out of it anymore.

If you are travelling with a partner or friend make sure you pack half of your clothes in the other suitcase. When doing this you always have your clothes and some essentials in case your suitcase gets lost. If you're travelling alone you can always put some things in your carry on luggage. The primary thing is to never forget your luggage label.

You always have to bear in mind that you probably also going to buy some things like souvenirs from far away destinations and other nice local gifts. If you are going on a shopping trip we advise you to forget all the rules above and just bring an empty suitcase!

The golden rule to don't stress out is: if you forget something you can always still buy it on the destination itself.
